Update
June 30, 2007: Lee and I lost a devoted companion this past week. At the age
of 17, we had the unbearable task of ending the life of Punkin, our miniature
poodle. She just celebrated her 17th birthday on June 25th. Her health had deteriorated
over the past year, and that was never more evident after returning from vacation. Over
that past month she had gone completely blind and this past week, could no longer
walk on her own. She
will be and has already been deeply missed by Lee and I. She was a great dog,
and even in the end was still pleasing us. Please
visit Punkin's link to view a great picture of her from a few years ago. Deb's
career I
am responsible for coordinating all off-site training classes held throughout
the year, setting up class folders, maintaining the Academy registration database,
and maintaining all training materials associated with the off-site classes. The
Academy also offers two unique programs. The first one is the Plumbing Apprenticeship
Program. This program is a 4 year program designed to train people interested
in becoming Illinois state licensed plumbers. Our plumbing students are sponsored
by a plumbing contractor. Another
valuable tool offered to the plumbers is a 5 hour simulation of the Illinois State
Licensing exam. This course is designed to put the 4th year plumbing students
in the stressful situation of taking the state exam in Springfield. It gives them
the experience and education to realize that they may not be ready for the test
at all. And in fact give them an opportunity to register for the Plumbing Apprenticeship
Program if they desire to further develop the skills necessary for passing the
exam. Now
you know what I have been doing the past couple of years. Thanks
for visiting today, and enjoy the rest of your visit. P.S.
